The Barco MDSC-2226 high definition (HD) surgical display features an integrated IP-to-AV decoder, an easy-clean design, and a unique cable management system. The display offers full 10-bit video processing and backlight stabilization, presenting long-term accurate images with near-zero latency for perfect hand-eye coordination. With its broad input connectivity, the display also offers flexible multi-modality imaging such as picture-in-picture (PiP) and picture-and-picture (PaP). The smooth, splash-proof housing, and protective screen cover makes the display easy to clean and disinfect, while the fanless design prevents the spread of contaminants.

The display’s high brightness, high contrast, and full HD resolution provide surgeons with excellent depth perception and accurate color and grayscale images, making it perfectly suited for use with endoscopy camera systems. Thanks to its high-bright light emitting diode (LED) backlight that lowers the heat output, ensuring safe operation, long operating lifetime, and low power consumption. The new surgical display also features a native full HD resolution liquid crystal display (LCD) panel and a smart cable management system for a clutter-free set-up.

The display also offers integrated functionality for use with the proprietary Barco Nexxis for OR solution, ensuring smooth distribution of uncompressed video and data over the IP network. For traditional installations, two additional display models are available offering wide connectivity, including digital visual interface (DVI), DisplayPort, High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI), 3G-HD serial digital interface (SDI), and analog sources. The Barco MDSC-2226 surgical display is a product of Barco (Kortrijk, Belgium).

“The MDSC-2226 combines the best features of our first generation of surgical displays with a new design, an LED backlight, and an optional decoder to stream uncompressed video-over-IP,” said Johan Stockman, Barco’s VP of strategic marketing for surgical imaging. “We simply wanted the new display to be easy to use and install while guaranteeing the most detailed images in the procedure room today.”
