Smiths Medical Acquires Respiratory Device Firm

In a move to expand its portfolio of respiratory products, Smiths Medical (London, UK) has acquired DHD Healthcare (Wampsville, NY, USA) for U.S.$55 million.

DHD's products are used to care for the respiratory needs of patients in a variety of therapeutic and critical care applications. More...
The company had sales of U.S.$21.2 million over the past 12 months. Smiths acquired DHD from Riverside Capital (Cleveland, OH, USA). Smiths Medical is one of the four operating divisions of the Smiths Group plc, which designs and manufactures critical safety systems and products, including medical devices.

"DHD's world class respiratory products will complement and extend the Smiths Medical airway range with high-growth, novel respiratory care devices,” said Lawrence Kinet, managing director of Smiths Medical.
