Mediclinic International (Stellenbosch, South Africa) has revealed plans to build a new hospital in Dubai, at an investment of USD 190.5 million.

The new Mediclinic Parkview Hospital will be operated by subsidiary Mediclinic Middle East (Dubai, UAE), and is expected to be completed by the end of 2018. More...
The hospital will offer healthcare services to the southern area of Dubai, and will be similar in scope to the company’s existing Mediclinic City Hospital. It will provide both hospital and outpatient services across a full range of disciplines (except oncology), with an initial capacity of 150 beds and six operating rooms (OR).

Oncology service will be provided in a new wing in Mediclinic City Hospital, a 229 bed multidisciplinary hospital that opened in Dubai Healthcare City in 2006, and continues to dominate Dubai’s healthcare landscape specialist-focused treatment in the areas of cardiology and cardiac surgery, critical care, urology and vascular surgery, dentistry, endocrinology, ENT, gastroenterology, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, nuclear medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pediatrics and neonatology, physiotherapy, pulmonology, radiology, rheumatology, urology, and vascular surgery.

“At an approximate cost of AED 700 million, this project represents Mediclinic Middle East's most substantial investment in the UAE healthcare market to date, and is testament to our confidence in the country's economy and continued growth,” said David Hadley, CEO of Mediclinic Middle East. “This new hospital will bring the same level of service and treatment that our patients have come to expect from Mediclinic's existing hospitals in Dubai Healthcare City and Al Garhoud, but in a far more convenient location for those living in 'new Dubai'.”

Mediclinic International, founded in 1983, is one of the top 10 listed private healthcare groups in the world with 52 private hospitals in Southern Africa, 16 in Switzerland (under the name Hirslanden) and two hospitals and 10 clinics in the UAE.
