cardiology picture archiving and communication system (PACS) markets.

This award annual annually recognizes the company that has shown the most insight into customer needs and product demands. Frost & Sullivan, an international consultancy company, stressed how Philips consistently evolves its system set while enabling customers to upgrade from single modality systems to a true multimodality, integrated cardiology information system. At the center of the Philips cardiology information technology (IT) product range is the Xcelera system, the latest generation of cardiology information systems and one of the most flexible digital imaging archive systems that Philips provides.

"We are delighted to have been given this award by Frost & Sullivan, which is great recognition of the work that Philips puts into understanding our customers' needs and successfully designing innovative products,” remarked Stan Smits, head of Philips Medical Systems Healthcare IT. "We are committed to delivering products that fully meet user requirements and expectations, and this distinguished award highlights our leadership in cardiology IT.”

In addition to this award, Klas Enterprises (Oren, UT, USA), a research and consulting firm specializing in the monitoring and reporting of performance data for healthcare information technology (HIT) vendors, recently ranked Philips as best overall cardiology PACS vendor in its Cardiology PACS Study 2005, published on June 22, 2005.
