NexxRad Teleradiology Partners (Long Beach, CA, USA), a around-the-clock teleradiology services company, is implementing the Horizon Medical Imaging (Sarasota, FL, USA) picture archiving and communications system (PACS) based on personal computer client/server technology developed by McKesson's Medical Imaging Group (San Francisco, CA, USA).

With the comprehensive PACS network, NexxRad can reduce clients' operating costs, improve productivity, and ultimately improve patient care through the delivery of more timely and accurate diagnostic information. More...
NexxRad archives both images and reports on secure, reliable long-term media. Radiologists have the ability to access previous clinical reports, and images, as well as to view new images on workstations with high-resolution monitors. Diagnostic reports are created at the same workstation by interfacing with digital transcription systems or automated report-generating technology.

"We're dedicated to solving radiology's most demanding ‘coverage' challenges and helping radiology practices to improve performance while achieving revenue objectives at the highest level of excellence and integrity,” said David Phinney, vice president of operations.

NexxRad's state-of-the-art technology base meets or exceeds American College of Radiology (ACR) Guidelines and integrates with a client's existing teleradiology systems. NexxRad's information technology (IT) specialists install and maintain the infrastructure necessary to support teleradiology in a secure environment backed by redundant systems in order to ensure uninterrupted service.
