A new suture anchor has been designed to provide orthopedic surgeons with a simpler, faster, and replicable process for performing arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs. More...

The Opus AutoCuff Magnum M Suture Anchor comes preloaded with two strands of MagnumWire suture, providing surgeons with a medial row anchor that offers double row rotator cuff repairs. The device is also fully cannulated, allowing blood and bone marrow aspirate to migrate to the surface, and possesses a cortical fixation bone lock, which provides a higher pull out strength and minimum gap formation. The Opus AutoCuff Magnum M Suture Anchor is a product of ArthroCare (Austin, TX, USA), and is intended for use with the ArthroCare Magnum X system and the 4-Runner suture shuttle.

"The launch of Magnum M is a significant next step in the continuing growth and development of our AutoCuff System and family of products for shoulder repair,” said Jack Giroux, president of ArthroCare Sports Medicine. "We've now introduced the smallest diameter medial row anchor on the market, providing surgeons the opportunity to preserve the maximum amount of native healing footprint in their patients' shoulders.”

MagnumWire suture is made of an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber that is three times stronger than #2 braided polyester suture. MagnumWire also features advanced handling characteristics, is abrasion resistant, and possesses high knot breakage strength.
