Posted on 18 May 2014
For the first time ever, world health tourism industry corporations and professionals will meet to promote Turkey as a leading destination for medical tourism.

The 2014 Istanbul Medical Tourism Fair (IMT; Istanbul, Turkey) and Congress, which will take place June 11–13, 2014, at the Istanbul Congress Center (ICC), is drawing high interest from sector professionals. More...
The main exhibitors will be composed of various public, private, and university hospitals from different cities of Turkey, thermal centers, spa and wellness centers, dental and maxillofacial surgery centers, health corporations, insurance companies, healthcare sector associations, and media companies.

Over 10,000 visitors are expected from Turkey itself as well as other countries, including Middle Eastern and Balkan countries, African countries, Russian speaking countries, and the Turkic speaking North Cyprus and Azerbaijan, who will meet with exhibitors. Buyer delegations from these countries will be composed of Ministry of Health officials, medical tourism travel companies, doctors, brokers, and owners of hospitals and clinics. The B2B meetings among the exhibitors and visitors will take place in conjunction with the exhibition and conference panels with national and international speakers who will enlighten the medical tourism sector.

Turkey’s geographic and strategic position (just 4 hours of flight away for over 1.5 billion people), its temperate climate, and its renowned quality of service, have set Turkey as a major medical tourism attraction.

Turkey’s accredited health care corporations are acknowledged as being 2nd in the world for organizational management and 7th in the world in terms of thermal water sources. Private hospitals in Turkey provide physical and technological resources that meet European standards, while it’s thermal waters—both in flow and temperature, as well as the various physical and chemical properties—carry higher quality than European thermal waters.

Turkey’s leading health corporations include Liv Hospital, Acıbadem Hospital Group, Medipol Mega Hospitals Complex, Medicana Health Group (Istanbul, Turkey), Taraklı Thermal Centers (Istanbul, Turkey), Birinci Eye Hospital, and Thermal Health Centers. The IMT is organized by Turkel Fair Organization (Istanbul, Turkey).
