Integrated Electrophysiology Solutions

By HospiMedica staff writers
Posted on 22 Jun 2004
New electrophysiology (EP) products integrate recording, mapping, and fluoroscopy capabilities that are designed to streamline workflow in the electrophysiology laboratory.

The Allura XperFD 10 catheterization system combines these capabilities and specific fluoro protocols that may help to achieve significant dose reductions. More...
The EP Workmate integrated family of EP recording and stimulation equipment offers high quality signals and 3D mapping to diagnose and treat cardiac arrhythmias. Live 3D Echo with Tom Tec advanced analysis software enables clinicians to view and examine the motion and timing of contraction for each region of the left ventricle (LV) to help evaluate LV dysynchrony. This analysis can help clinicians select and predict those patients who may respond to cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT).

Evaluating and treating patients with cardiovascular conditions are often based on cardiac electrophysiology, which assesses the electrical system of the heart, to identify the cause and help manage abnormalities in the heart's rhythm or arrhythmias. Providing doctors with precise knowledge of the heart's complex circuitry and anatomy may reduce exam times, improve patient care, and advance the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac rhythm disorders.

The Allura XperFD 10 system and the 3D Echo with Tom Tec software are the products of Philips Medical Systems (Best, The Netherlands). The EP Workmate is the product of EP MedSystems (West Berlin, NJ, USA; www.epmedsystems.com). They were all introduced at the annual meeting of Heart Rhythm in San Francisco (CA, USA) in May 2004.
