Novel Vital Signs Monitor

By HospiMedica staff writers
Posted on 18 Jul 2005
A new vital signs monitor incorporates advances in capnography, pulse oximetry, and blood pressure monitoring. More...
The monitor has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The CAS 750C, developed by CAS Medical Systems, Inc. (Branford, CT, USA), incorporates the Microstream capnography of Oridion Systems, Ltd. (Jerusalem, Israel), the pulse oximetry of Masimo Corp. (Irvine, CA, USA), and the CAS MAXNIBP blood-pressure monitoring technology.

The lightweight, portable monitor is designed for a variety of applications, ranging from emergency care to procedural sedation. The Microstream capnography and sampling accessories provide clinical advantages that make tidal CO2 monitoring more efficient and effective. Combined with the Maximo SET pulse oximetry technology, the monitor sets a new standard in monitoring ventilation and oxygenation, states CAS. The company's products are used by doctors worldwide.

"We are very pleased to announce the addition of the 750C to our vital signs monitoring product line,” commented Louis P. Scheps, president and CEO of CAS Medical Systems, Inc. "With end tidal CO2 technology, we have further expanded our measurement capabilities and the breadth of information we can provide to clinicians regarding their patients' vital statistics.
