Posted on 09 Jun 2011
Innovative patient simulators utilize advanced technology for quality-assurance testing and troubleshooting of patient monitors.

The ProSim 8 all-in-one multifunction tester is designed to perform most preventive maintenance (PM) testing in an unprecedented five minutes or less. More...
The ProSim 8 simultaneously simulates electrocardiogram (ECG), respiration, temperature, blood pressure (BP), cardiac output/cardiac catheterization, noninvasive blood pressure (NIBP), and oxygen saturation (SpO2). It is also capable of simulating new Masimo multiwavelength SpO2 Rainbow SET in physiologically synchronized pulses across all parameters.

For patient monitor troubleshooting on the go, the ProSim 4 quick-check touchscreen simulator provides one-touch testing for quick and simple patient monitor-performance checks and troubleshooting in the field. In sixty seconds, the ProSim 4 offers 12-lead ECG simulation, respiration, IBP, and NIBP testing. Featuring stay-connected ECG posts to ensure secure lead connections and smart, no-hassle navigation, the quick-check tool with patient presets and autosequences is a first line of defense for on-the-go troubleshooting and testing. The ProSim 8 and the ProSim 4 are products of Fluke Biomedical (Everett, WA, USA).

"Our dedication to ‘voice-of-the-customer' business practices means all new-product development focuses on user-centered design methodology," said Roger Peniche, director of research and development at Fluke Biomedical. "Three and a half years, over 200 customer visits throughout the United States, France, Germany, United Kingdom, China, and Japan, and our fleet of the top test-and-measurement engineers, industrial designers, and human-factors user interface experts all came together to bring you the most innovative device in the biomed toolbox."
