Monitoring System Focuses on Clarity, Data Continuity at POC

By HospiMedica International staff writers
Posted on 02 Aug 2011
A new patient monitoring system is comprised of a scalable platform that focuses on the clarity and continuity of data at a single point of care (POC).

The V Series was conceived, tested, and proven in a practical environment by end-users who understand the complexities and workflows of critical healthcare. More...
It addresses the need for more effective care without information overload and unnecessary alarms; it simply focuses on the most critical information.

The monitoring system provides a blend of familiar parameters and a sustainable platform enabling the potential for future expansion required by global healthcare institutions.

The V 12/V 21 monitoring platform is a modular patient monitoring system. The system architecture allows users to customize, by removal or addition of modules, monitored parameters based on a patient's monitoring needs. The modular design simplifies the addition of more monitoring parameters.

The platform is easy to use despite incorporating highly complex monitoring parameters. The user interface minimizes menu layers and excessive user interaction to simplify patient care. The V Series monitoring platform maximizes the amount of viewable data through the use of a portrait display orientation.

The V 12/V 21 monitoring platform can acquire and store up to 12 hours of real-time vital sign data including 3/5/6 Lead ECG including ST and arrhythmia analysis, respiration, two invasive blood pressures, noninvasive blood pressure, pulse oximetry, and temperature.

The V Series V21 and V12 patient monitoring system has the flexibility and adaptability needed for clinicians' changing environments and provides the users with an advanced device throughout their facilities. The system also provides immediate connectivity through its thread-safe VAccess application, bringing the user in touch with patient data streams, such as electronic medical records, at a single location, without compromising the monitoring of patients.

The series delivers a modernized user interface that is consistent, predictable, and intuitive.

Mindray Medical (Shenzhen, China) received the 2011 Medical Device Excellence award for its V series patient monitoring system.
