Defibrillator Analyzer Tests AED Accuracy

By HospiMedica International staff writers
Posted on 01 Dec 2011
A compact, lightweight, and portable defibrillator analyzer features automatic test programs for automatic external defibrillators (AEDs), allowing effective testing of their response, interpretation, and performance.

The Uni-Pulse battery powered analyzer offers both manual and automatic test programs for all monophasic, biphasic, and pulsed waveform defibrillators. More...
Enhanced memory capacity has been integrated for the storage of results, defibrillator waveforms, and test programs. A color liquid crystal diode (LCD) display provides easy navigation around the functions and simulations, including defibrillator waveform capture, accurate energy measurements, cardio synch times, peak voltage, and current. A 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) simulation program with substantial variation of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias and performance waveforms provides faster, easier, and more accurate testing of defibrillators with built-in monitoring functions.

An optional paddle adaptor box includes a version with variable loads from 25-200 Ohms for compliance with International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) requirements. Both Bluetooth and a universal serial bus (USB) port have been incorporated for improved connectivity. The Uni-Pulse device can also be used with proprietary Med-eBase software to provide enhanced electronic recording and management of medical device safety testing programs. The Uni-Pulse defibrillator analyzer is a product of Rigel Medical (Peterlee, United Kingdom), and is part of a range of advanced analyzers, simulators, testers, and accessories available.
