By HospiMedica International staff writers
Posted on 10 Dec 2012
New medical scales provide a comprehensive overview of a patient's health and the tools necessary to identify cardio-metabolic risk factors, and works as a nutrition planner to establish target weight goals.

The seca 360° wireless medical scales and software include the seca 684 wireless multifunctional scales that can be safely and accurately weighed while standing or seated or in a wheelchair. More...
A stable handrail supports the standing patient, while an integrated fold-down seat provides comfort for the seated patient, and the large platform accommodates a patient in a wheelchair. The weight of the wheelchair or walker is simply deducted with use of the Pre-Tare function. The seca 684 is equipped with seca 360° wireless technology, which transmits all measurements to a wireless printer or to proprietary seca software for integration into electronic medical records (EMRs).

Two wireless printers are available for reception, analysis, and printing of measurements on thermal paper or labels, which are then automatically separated. The printer also handles the automatic interpretation and analysis of results, forming a graph of weight, height, body mass index (BMI), and resting or total energy expenditure or percentiles for children. The results are compared to standard ranges. The required reference values, which are on a separate memory card, can be configured easily, along with other data such as the date and time format, language, and hospital information.

The system also includes a series of wireless chair scales, baby scales with an extra-large weighing tray, wireless column scales with a capacity of up to 250 kilograms with a 220 centimeter integrated measuring rod, and wireless stadiometers with a heel positioner and a Frankfurt Line on the headpiece to ensure that the patient is in the right position, contributing to obtaining accurate measurements. The seca 360 wireless medical scales and software are products of seca (Hamburg, Germany).
