Fetal Monitoring Available for Obstetricians on the Go

The Cerner FetaLink+ solution provides a graphical display of the relationship between fetal heart rates and contraction data, allowing clinicians to assess the status of patients by displaying the fetal and maternal waveforms and the relationship between them; clinicians can thus more easily analyze changes in waveform patterns over time. Additionally, clinicians can temporarily or permanently hide or display any waveforms, thus analyzing each waveform independently or in conjunction with waveforms of choice to support decision-making.

Clinicians can also quickly view annotations and the annotation summary on the fetal strip, offering a quick way to review a chronological order of vital signs and annotation entries. The summary also serves as a navigation tool for viewing a historical waveform at the correlating time of entry. The Cerner FetaLink+ solution also integrates with the Cerner PowerChart Touch and the Cerner PowerChart Maternity solution, thus populating the lifetime electronic health records (EHRs) for the mother and the baby, gathering data even before a baby is born.

Further benefits include near real-time access to critical information about a woman’s pregnancy and the health of her baby, improving patient safety and helping clinicians make informed decisions; creating mobile access to fetal and maternal waveform data and key pregnancy related data such as estimated due date (EDD), estimated gestational age (EGA), cervical exam status, and gravida para; and allowing clinicians to compare historical pregnancy data that can be used to evaluate the health of subsequent pregnancies.
