Higher Blood Flow with New Hemodialysis Catheter

Currently, dialysis therapy or a kidney transplant is the only treatment available for kidney failure.

The catheter not only provides higher blood flows at lower pressures compared to competing catheters but also offers kink resistance and minimal recirculation. Called the Pourchez Xpresso catheter, the catheter has been cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The device was developed by Spire Biomedical, Inc. (Bedford, MA, USA), a subsidiary of Spire Corp.
