Remote emergency medical assistance around the world is offered by MedAire, Inc. More...
(Farnborough, UK), which serves 44 airlines, governments, maritime operators, and international business travelers worldwide, providing them with 24-hour access to the services and expertise of emergency doctors and communications specialists at its MedLink Global Response Center.

MedAire says it has established the infrastructure, processes, and experience for managing health and security risks around the world. Specialized resources include medical and security kits and a network of international-standard medical clinics in Asia. An education division provides clients with environment-specific training programs. The MedLink Global Response Center is housed in the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center (Phoenix, AZ, USA), the flagship hospital of Banner Health System, one of the largest private, not-for-profit hospital systems in the United States.

The company recently agreed to provide the fleet of aircraft of Helios Airways (Larnaca, Cyprus) with its services. In December 2002, the US Air Force Medical Service asked MedAire to review its existing inflight medical support and ground capabilities and then offer recommendations for maximizing the management of remote medical situations. MedLink doctors have extensive experience in the field of aviation-specific medicine. In 2002, they managed more than 13,000 medical emergencies worldwide. US airlines using MedAire services include Delta Airlines and Southwest Airlines. MedAire has received ISO 9000 certification.
