Website Covers Infection Protection News

By HospiMedica staff writers
Posted on 18 Feb 2008
A new infection protection blog (weblog) website has been created as a resource for the latest international news and original articles on communicable and infectious diseases.

The CareMates Infection Protection blog is a weekly, online, public health news service intended for health care professionals, health media, and the public. More...
The new blog is underwritten by Shepard Medical Products (Carol Stream, IL, USA). The editorial director and editor is Gene Koprowski, M.A., a journalist who has covered health care for 20 years; the publisher is Chris Wright, a health industry executive and entrepreneur; and correspondents on the blog site include Sridhar Nadamuni, a health journalist based in Toronto (Canada).

"We've assembled a top team of physicians, public health experts, and health journalists at Care-Mates' Infection Protection,” said editor-in-chief Koprowski. "Our site is the only daily, public health blog on the Internet dedicated to infection protection and infection control education. Our goal this year -- to be the ‘go to' site for consumers in that market sector, the essence of infection control, and protection information.”

"We saw a critical need to get information out to the community of medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and others about infectious diseases on a day-to-day basis,” said Chris Wright, who is the founder and president of Shepard Medical Products. "There are a number of developing illnesses that these healthcare professionals see on the front lines, often before they are public knowledge. Our site was developed to keep people informed about the latest infectious disease news.”
