Flow Analyzer Measures Accuracy of Pneumatic Equipment

By HospiMedica International staff writers
Posted on 09 Dec 2009
An easy-to-use equipment-calibration tool verifies reliability and precision in respiratory ventilators, anesthesia machines, and spirometers.

The FlowAnalyser PF-300 measures flow, pressure, temperature, humidity, and oxygen (O2) concentrations from all types of pneumatic equipment, with both precision and reliability. More...
Features include bidirectional flow measurement, via two measuring canals that evaluate flow, pressure, temperature, humidity and O2; 16 respiratory parameters can be calculated, including positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP), velocity-time integral (Vti) and compliance. The device memorizes internally all measured and respiratory parameters in order to simplify the testing procedure. An adapter-set assists in connecting the tested object to the FlowAnalyser, eliminating dead space and minor differences in the cross-section dimension of the flow current, increasing measurement accuracy.

The analyzer also comes with FlowLab software, which helps in viewing flow, pressure, and volume measurements on a computer monitor, while simultaneously saving respiratory parameters. Measurement results can be viewed graphically both numerically or in real-time curves; trending reports of up to 100 hours can be generated to verify long-term ventilator functionality. To facilitate device management, test reports can also be created and saved electronically or printed. The FlowAnalyser PF-300 and the FlowLab software are products of imtmedical (Buchs, Switzerland), and supports 15 languages, including Russian, Arabic, and Polish.
