A range of wound closure devices has been specifically designed to treat surgical wounds within the operating theatre environment, providing easier application and avoidance of scars.

The LiquiBand surgical range of cyanoacrylate tissue adhesives is designed to provide strong, flexible, and fast wound closure. More...
The base product of the line, LiquiBand Surgical, contains n-butyl cyanoacrylate skin adhesive for fast wound closure and Octyl-Blend70 for a flexible wound dressing, in a new dual applicator sterile single use syringe, designed for the closure of both traumatic and minor surgical wounds.

LiquiBand Surgical S combines the fast setting wound closure properties of the butyl-cyanoacrylates with the more flexible liquid wound dressing capabilities of the slower setting octyl-cyanoacrylates in a new Octyl-Blend formulation. The new LiquiBand Surgical S two-in-one application system allows the precise and rapid closure of the surgical wound through a flow-control tip; an integral foam pad applicator then applies a broader, occlusive liquid wound dressing to provide strong and flexible wound support and protection.

The LiquiBand Laparoscopic topical skin adhesive and applicator is specifically designed for optimal closure of laparoscopic wounds. The LiquiBand Laparoscopic application system allows the precise and rapid closure of the surgical wound through a flow control tip, and an integral flocked pad applicator to apply a liquid wound dressing for additional wound support and protection. Clinical evaluations have demonstrated initial closure of individual laparoscopic wounds in 5-10 seconds; complete closure (including secondary occlusive dressing application) of 4 trocar sites takes less than 150 seconds with excellent wound cosmesis (comparatively, suturing takes approximately 220 seconds).

LiquiBand Optima is a preassembled device that has a unique winged actuator that provides an easy "click-and-use” functionality. The precision applicator design allows strict control, thus enabling the clinician to perform quicker, safer, and more precise wound closure. The 10 seconds set time of LiquiBand Optima provides ease of use and safe cosmetic wound closure. In addition, the microbial barrier and waterproof properties of the polymerized Octyl-Blend10 monomer helps to protect the wound against infection.

The range also includes liquid microbial barrier and sealant products such as LiquiShield, which helps to prevent the breakdown of friable skin; and LiquiSeal, which is a liquid bandage designed for use over sutures or staples to reduce the risk of potential infection.
