Noninvasive Face-Lift Technique

Countour Threads has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

"The procedure is patient-friendly,” noted Dr. Rick Noodleman, medical director of Age Defying Dermatology, a large cosmetic medical center (Campbell, CA, USA), who is pioneering the use of the new technique. "It's performed under local anesthesia; most people don't bruise and most are able to resume their normal routines in only two to three days.”

Dr. Noodleman explained that as the aging process begins, the skin's connective tissue thins, and collagen and elastic fibers begin to break down. The changes in these underlying support structures appear as sagging, deep creases, folds, and wrinkles in the skin that progress with aging. The ideal candidates for the ThreadLift procedure are people between the ages of 35 and 50, who have relatively modest lifting needs. Older patients may also benefit but the results may be less dramatic than those of traditional surgical lifting. However, there is no risk of general anesthesia and the recovery time is far more rapid than with a traditional face-lift.
