The Venue 40, developed by GE Healthcare (Chalfont St. Giles, UK), provides point-of-care ultrasound technology that is remarkably simple. There are no buttons, no keyboard, no knobs to complicate the process or slow the user down—just gel and go.

The Venue 40 ultrasound system is designed for real-time point of care (POC) procedures in surgery, emergency medicine, intensive care unit (ICU), and musculoskeletal care. Venue 40 provides fast diagnostics and visualization of needle guidance for a range of applications, including vascular access, aspiration, nerve block and therapeutic injection, and biopsy/fine needle aspiration and vein care. With an easy-to-use touch screen, Venue 40 helps increase the clinician’s speed and accuracy, especially when second-guessing is not an option.

From pocket-sized ultrasound to the simple sophistication of a portable, touch-screen system, to a compact console system that will grow with a practice, the point of care (POC) technology is designed to meet a healthcare institutes needs with excellent image quality. The system support a wide range of clinical specialties, including musculoskeletal, rheumatology, anesthesia, pain management, surgery, interventional, and emergency and critical care.
