Cardiac Imaging Network System

The system is called Encompass.

Using network-connected diagnostic review stations, doctors have instantaneous access to several thousand diagnostic cardiac exams stored on the Encompass Enterprise Server. In less than 30 seconds, they can access historical cases stored on the Encompass DVD Image Archive. Also, clinicians can reference patient data from any PC using only a web browser over a secure local area network, wide area network, or Internet connections. Encompass is the product of Heartlab, Inc. (Westerly, R.I., USA).

Heartlab says its DVD archive is 10 times faster than competing technologies, and provides scaleable capacities to store from 3,600 to more than 70,000 cases. Using the Encompass system, hospitals can share important cardiac exam data with other patient data management systems supporting the enterprise. The system can be cost effectively configured to meet the unique cardiac data management needs of the institution.
