New All-in-One Stat Analyzer

By HospiMedica staff writers
Posted on 18 Jul 2002
A new all-in-one stat analyzer that provides a comprehensive test menu of 19 measured and 29 calculated tests is designed to maximize the number of tests while minimizing labor requirements.

The Stat Profile Critical Care Xpress measures blood gases, electrolytes, chemistry, and hematology with an onboard co-oximetry, all-in-one single instrument. More...
Measured tests include pH, PCO2, PO2, SO2%, hematocrit and hemoglobin, sodium, potassium, chloride, ionized calcium, ionized magnesium, glucose, BUN, creatinine, and lactate. Six standard menu choices are offered plus an unlimited number of custom configurations. Despite incorporating more onboard tests than other analyzers, the Critical Care Xpress is 20-40% smaller and easily transported on its mobile cart. Snap-in reagent packs contain all required liquid and gas calibrators and onboard controls.

Meeting the demand for blood conservation, the analyzer requires only 50 microliters of whole blood for a blood gas panel and only 200 microliters of sample to perform all 19 measured tests. The analyzer features integrated onboard data-management software that allows custom configuration of touch-screen layouts, data capture and report formats, security options, QC processes, and other parameters. The Critical Care Xpress is the product of Nova Biomedical (Waltham, MA, USA).
