A secure mobile access card system module generates a wallet-sized card for hospital or clinic patients, which provides secure access to that patient’s medical images and documents.

Integrated Modular Systems, Inc. (IMSI; Havertown, PA, USA), a developer of medical imaging department operations management software development with customized workflow, IMSI recently presented My Key To ImageWebGate (MKTI), based on patent pending technology, at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 2014annual meeting, held in Chicago (IL, USA), November 30-December 5, 2014.

When the MKTI access card quick response (QR) code is scanned by a smart phone, tablet, or personal computer (PC), the patient medical records are displayed on the device, allowing the patient to view, download, and transmit a person’s own medical data securely, simply, and conveniently at home or anywhere.

Patient engagement in their own healthcare is one of the six US National Quality Strategy priorities, and has become an important focus of stage 2 meaningful use (MU2) of electronic health record (EHR) to ensure that each person and family are engaged as partners in their care and to promote effective communication and coordination of care for optimal outcomes. MKTI also supports the MU3 expanded data exchange functions for patients and providers suggested by the US National Health Information Technology Policy Committee to the acting National Coordinator for Health Information Technology for three core areas: query for a patient record, provider directories, and provider data migration and patient data portability.

Integrated Modular Systems is a leading integrator of medical imaging and health care technology solutions. With expertise in browser-based applications, HL[Health Level]7 and Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) conformance, IMSI provides cost-effective on-site and cloud-hosted (SaaS) electronic medical record (EMR), radiology information systems (RIS), picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), and digital voice solutions for radiology, cardiology, orthopedics, rheumatology, and urgent care, women’s healthcare providers in hospitals, clinics, and practice settings. IMSI works with corporate partners in the industry to design and bring to market the most technologically advanced solutions.
