The cooperation, between Richard Wolf GmbH (Knittlingen, Germany) and Meierhofer AG (Munich, Germany), will provide clinical users with the core.expert system for endoscopy, which integrates intervention workflow.

The newly created expert system for endoscopy facilitates a significant improvement in the clinical workflow, cost-effectiveness, and patient security throughout the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases. All the relevant information is available immediately in all phases before, during, and after the intervention, including planning data, performance data, and progress of the intervention. The information can also be captured during the operation in real time. Generation of operating reports and evaluations after the intervention is facilitated by automated output.

The cooperation includes the integration of the MCC.OP Module from Meierhofer, an operating-room management system, which offers optimum support from planning to documentation, and the core nova integration solution from Richard Wolf, a central intraoperative system for controlling medical devices, media management, and image and video documentation.

“Our IT solutions are well-known in practical applications for their functional depth and their excellent integration capability. We are moving the strategy of holistic process optimization forward with this integrated operating room project—continuous information flow through seamlessly networked IT structures,” said Matthias Meierhofer, CEO and founder of Meierhofer. “This enables us to achieve optimized equipment planning for endoscopy and ideal availability of relevant data, while also ensuring convenient use at the same time.”

“The in-depth meshing of Richard Wolf’s integration system and the MCC.OP Module from Meierhofer enables us to offer a comprehensive solution for endoscopy,” said Jürgen Steinbeck, Managing Director at Richard Wolf. “This brings about a significant improvement in the clinical workflow of our customers and strengthens the position of both companies in the international arena.”

Meierhofer is the leading provider of clinical information systems in German-speaking Europe, systems that provide support for the complete treatment process from the outpatient department, through the operating room and the service facilities, and up to the accounts department.

Richard Wolf is one of the leading global providers of endoscopic products and offers innovative integrated solutions within the sector for minimally invasive interventions in key surgical disciplines.
